In the traditional project landscape, the collaboration between a project manager (PM) and a business analyst (BA) has always been a human-centric dance of negotiation, discovery, and documentation. But as we navigate 2026, the room has gotten a bit more crowded. A third chair has been pulled up to the table, occupied not by a human, but by a large language model trio(LLM). This isn’t just another tool in the tech stack; it is a fundamental shift in the collaboration dynamic. To remain competitive, we must move past using AI as a simple "text improver" and start treating it as a specialized, integrated team member – an Intelligence Layer that scales our impact.

Interview with Dr. Patricia Domínguez Marín by Alexander Sheludenkov. Your profile is striking - a PhD in mathematics, a career in project management consulting, and a substantial volunteering record with PMI. Was any of this planned? You see it as very special, but for me it feels natural. I loved mathematics as a child, and when I started thinking about what to study at university, it was the obvious choice. And once I was there, I always enjoyed the idea of going further, so the PhD followed. At the time I was investing in it, it felt like something enjoyable, not like work or a burden.

Projects have always been vehicles for change, designed to deliver a product, a service, or a capability. However, every schedule, budget, and milestone lies a deeper truth: projects are fundamentally human endeavors. They are conceived through human intention, shaped by human collaboration, and ultimately judged by the value they create for human lives.

It starts the same way every time. A message marked “urgent”. Then another. Then a ”quick ask” that somehow requires a full-day turnaround. Before you know it, your delivery schedule is under siege, every stakeholder convinced their request is the one that cannot wait… Welcome to one of the most defining leadership challenges in project management.

Before we even step into a meeting, a project, or a team discussion, we carry an internal landscape shaped by countless small moments – the rhythm of our days, the pace of our thoughts, the subtle tension in our bodies. Some of these moments call for stillness, reflection, and inner attention, others demand engagement, expression, and courage. Navigating this balance is one of the quietest, yet most essential, challenges of working with others. It asks us to notice the difference between the restorative silence that renews us and the silence that leaves ideas unspoken, risks unaddressed, and potential untapped.

Nowadays we are witnessing Fourth Industrial Revolution hitting all industries on the market. Automation to increase efficiency and reduce costs seems to be permanent element of contemporary world. Lessons Learned – the Case Study

Much has been written about collecting lessons learned in projects. On the one hand, project management standards provide guidelines and examples of such activities. On the other hand, even the Agile world has focused on collecting and implementing improvements (for example in the form of retrospectives in Scrum) from the very beginning of its “existence”. And while the Scrum teams often use the retrospective, on large projects it is a bit like a “square peg in a round hole” and is primarily done at the very end of the project (only because it is required by the project closure documentation).

Project manager may take time to upskill who solely rely on certifications or on-the-job experiences. They may often fail to keep the pace with the rapid shifts in technology and delivery models. Traditional learning approaches struggle to support the highly adaptive environments in which today’s PM must thrive. Enter artificial intelligence not as a threat but as a true mentor. This tool has the potential to transform how PMs learn and grow offering real-time insights, feedbacks and scenario-based guidance.

Back in 2006, LinkedIn was only three years old, the global economy was growing fast before the 2008 crisis, and social media influencers were just starting to appear. In the middle of all these changes, Pluto got a big surprise – it was “demoted” and lost its planet status. It was in this rapidly changing world that the first PMI Poland Chapter Congress took place, bringing together professionals ready to face new challenges.
