The rapid pace of artificial intelligence (AI) development in many industries is intimidating, even for experts. We do not fully understand all the mechanisms at play, often treating AI as a black box, further fueling the imagination that there might be intelligence inside that could pose a threat. Managers and directors are beginning to wonder if their positions will be cannibalized in the next years. The crucial question to answer this is whether entire management can be encapsulated in procedures, highly detailed goals, and the best paths to solving problems.

To be honest, I didn’t ask myself this question on the first day of my career. I assumed my current position in March 2022 when I was 20 years old. All my colleagues had already been with the firm for 5-10 years, and I had barely time to get a university degree. At that time I didn't actually have any technical knowledge, which would be useful for any, even a beginner, project manager. Slowly getting up to speed, I finally learnt to identify my stakeholders, who turned out to be engineers and my suppliers.

Preboarding is yet another buzzword that made its way into the business world, human resources, and management. It stands for the period just after signing the work contract with the employee, but still before the official beginning of the employment itself. What could or sometimes even should happen in this period? How can a new hire and your company alike benefit from it?

Odpowiedzi jest kilka: promuje ciągłe doskonalenie (continuous improvement), realizuje model biznesowy oparty na zarabianiu jak największej ilości pieniędzy (business outcomes) poprzez zwiększanie wartości biznesowej klientów oraz użytkowników (customer/user outcomes).

As a Leader, one of the most important roles is to coach the team to do their best as a team and individual. By doing this, Leader will help them make better decisions, solve problems, learn new skills and otherwise progress their careers. When Leaders coach their team members, this may or may not apply. It’s more powerful for people to draw conclusions for themselves, rather than having these conclusions thrust upon them. On the other side, a team leader will often have expert knowledge to offer. It’s the daily job to guide team members to make decisions that are best for them.
